New Rock & Pop demo videos!
We recently produced a third set of Rock & Pop demo videos, designed to help students learn how to play specific techniques in songs in our syllabus. There are five different sets of videos, one for each instrument; bass, drums, guitar, keyboards and vocals.
Within each set of videos, there are around fifteen to twenty demos, ranging from Initial to Grade 8. Each video looks at one or more of the technical skills that students need to demonstrate during their Rock & Pop exam.
A number of professional session musicians feature in these videos. The musicians include:
Matt McDonough - drums. Matt records drums for artists and producers at his own recording studio in London.
Andrew Tolman – bass. Andrew has played with a diverse range of artists and has recorded an album with Alfie Boe. He is currently on tour with artist Jo Harman.
Kelly Appleton – guitar. Kelly has toured with a number of artists including Tricky and Taio Cruz. She has also worked on TV shows such as Superstars and The Voice.
Danielle McGinley – keyboard. Danielle works full time in the pop/rock scene, mainly on live gigs, tours and studio sessions, and has worked with artists such as Cher Lloyd, Tinchy Stryder and Cheryl Baker.
Brendan Reilly – vocals. Brendan has toured the world and worked with artists such as Basement Jaxx, Rita Ora, and Laura Mvula. He’s also sung on many radio and TV adverts.
Hannah de Koster – drums. Hannah studied a degree in jazz drumming, where she was taught by Frank Gibson JR. She teaches drums, plays in a variety of bands, and has performed with artists including Julie Broadhurst.
Paola Vera – vocals. Paola performs for all kinds of projects and she also writes her own material, as well as providing backing vocals for other artists.
Andee Price – bass. Andee has played bass for 80's punk icon Toyah Wilcox as well as for a number of theatre shows, including the UK tour of 7 Brides for 7 Brothers and Singing in the Rain.
George Double - drums. George is currently an examiner for our Rock & Pop exams and he worked on our Rock & Pop Drums books. He has also played with artists such as Jack Jones, Ruthie Henshall and Kym Mazelle.
Tim Sandiford - bass and guitar. Tim is a session musician and has played with artists such as Dizzee Rascal, Girls Aloud, Cody ChesnuTT, Sister Sledge and Mika.
Iain Mackenzie – vocals. Iain is a session musician and voice coach. He has recently toured the UK with Brendan Cole from Strictly Come Dancing, and has also performed with artists such as Sandie Joss Stone and Susan Boyle.
